Kate Emery, president and founder of Walker Systems Support and reSET (SocialEnterpriseTrust.org) has been nominated to the Board of GreenShare Technology, a Connecticut based nonprofit providing low and no cost technology to bridge the digital divide. GreenShare takes used computers out of the waste stream, trains interns to wipe old drives and provides the refurbished computers for re-use by schools and other nonprofit organizations at no or low costs. GreenShare is a member of reSET’s social enterprise incubator program. Ms. Emery is excited about the opportunity to serve as a trustee, saying “It’s a great organization which helps get technology to those who might otherwise not have access, keeps older computers out of our land-fills, and provides an entry level training opportunity to folks interested in technology. It’s a win-win-win and a perfect example of the power of social enterprise!”
