Account Executive

The Account Executive is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with prospects and assigned strategic accounts to develop all business opportunities. The Account Executive will be responsible for sales to new and existing clients, while working as a team player within the company to meet and/or exceed established individual sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy for uncovering new business opportunities
  • Effectively utilize resources to reach and identify prospects for contact
  • Obtain referrals and attend networking events from industry sources to build pipeline of prospects
  • Aggressively prospect and cold call to generate interest
  • Act as strategic account lead for initial account acquisition and respond effectively to pre-sale questions of prospects and/or internal staff to move the sales process forward
  • Sell to multiple levels of decision-makers within larger, high potential accounts
  • Work with other team members (Account Management, Pre-Sales, Sales Operations) to meet and exceed customer expectations and to meet and exceed profitability goals
  • Develop the strategic plan for our involvement with accounts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Business
  • 5 plus years of successful corporate business-to-business sales experience
  • Ability to converse with prospects at all levels, including the executive or owner level
  • Ability to open doors to new clients, and to close sales
  • Solution selling methodology
  • Strong verbal communication, networking and relationship building skills required to achieve new business goals
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment to prospect and develop new business
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Local travel as required (75%). Must own reliable transportation
  • Basic understanding of technology systems, Internet applications as well as CRM systems
  • Experience in product sales and/or large account strategic sales
  • Experience in managed services and/or major enterprise sales a major plus to this position
