Account Executive

The Account Executive is accountable for establishing and maintaining relationships with prospects and assigned strategic accounts to develop all business opportunities. The Account Executive will be responsible for sales to new and existing clients, while working as a team player within the company.


  • Prospect, network, and cold call to generate interest in Walker and our services
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of The Walker Group solutions
  • Act as strategic account lead for initial account acquisition and respond effectively to pre-sale questions of prospects and/or internal staff
  • Sell to multiple levels of decision-makers within larger, high potential accounts
  • Schedule face-to-face contact with current or prospective clients
  • Maintain accurate CRM data with regard to territory, opportunities and pipeline
  • Obtain referrals and attend networking events from industry sources to build pipeline of prospects
  • Educate self on current market conditions, needs, and competitor strategies, goals and approaches
  • Utilize resources effectively to reach and identify prospects for contact
  • Work with other team members (Account Management, Pre-Sales, Sales Operations) to meet and exceed customer expectations and to meet and exceed profitability goals


  • 5+ years’ experience in successful corporate business-to-business sales
  • Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Business or equivalent experience
  • Proven sales experience, meeting assigned quotas
  • Ability to converse with prospects at all levels, including the executive level
  • Ability to open doors to new clients, and to close sales
  • Ability to sell solutions effectively
  • Strong verbal communication, networking and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment to prospect and develop new business
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products and CRM systems
  • Basic understanding of technology systems and Internet applications is preferred
  • Experience in product sales and/or large account strategic sales is preferred

Experience in managed services and/or major enterprise sales is preferred
