Senior Network & Security Engineer

The Senior Network & Security Engineer is accountable for client consulting with a focus on Information Security as well as serving as a primary engineer on certain dedicated client accounts. The Senior Network Engineer will focus on security assessments and client security maintenance along with proactively maintaining clients’ network environments, making the necessary recommendations to achieve network integrity and stability, and help with escalations requiring higher level or information security support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Information Security related consulting and support services including: Internal and External Vulnerability Assessments, Risk Assessments, Security Awareness Training, Security Policy Review and Development, Incident Response Plan development, Disaster Recovery plan development and other services defined in the practice
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for our diverse client base and lead escalations with respect to Information Security issues and response
  • Mentor other team members and engineers in the area of Information Security
  • Work with C-Level decision makers in assisting with business initiative and tech planning
  • Work with Practice Managers and VP of Professional Service to identify new Information Security offerings or capabilities
  • Act as Information Security consultant for Walker’s internal Information Technology team. Conduct annual security assessments or risk assessments for Walker to ensure compliance with PCI and HIPAA BAA
  • Troubleshoot network infrastructure and make recommendations for system fixes and enhancements
  • Work with Project Management Office to participate in project work, both in a lead role and team member capacity
  • Collaborate with network engineers, architects and other team members on the implementation, testing, deployment and integration of network systems

 

Qualifications

  • 5 plus+ years’ technical experience in multiple client environments on a consultative basis with an emphasis in information security
  • Industry related degree is preferred
  • CS/MIS certification and GIAC, GSEC or CISSP certification preferred
  • Networking Experience: Current Windows OS, VMware ESXi, Business Class Hardware Firewalls (SonicWALL, WatchGuard), VPN Appliances, SPAM and Web Filters; business-class wireless solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
