1983 | Balance Computer Support
Kate establishes Balance Computer Support in Canton, CT, offering PC management and programming services with the goal of “Balancing High Tech with Personal Touch."

1986 | Soft Industries
Balance merges with two other professionals as Soft Industries in Southington, CT, offering programming, PC management, troubleshooting, and technical writing.
1996 | Walker Systems Support
As technology progresses, the company moves to Farmington, CT, and is renamed to Walker Systems Support. The primary services are onsite support and consulting to help companies maintain their computer networks.

2005 | Good Ideas Incubator
Kate creates an "incubator of good ideas” within the company, spawning such initiatives as the Computer Contribution Program – taking old computers and repurposing them for those in need.
2006 | Digital Marketing Solutions
Walker Systems Support expands its services into the digital marketing realm and begins to offer website design and development, web hosting, and marketing services.

2007 | A Stakeholder Business
The company revises the Articles of Incorporation to establish itself as a "Stakeholder Business" laying the foundation for Social Enterprise.
2011 | Social Enterprise Trust
Kate establishes a non-profit, Social Enterprise Trust (reSET), to help educate the public about Social Enterprise and provide support to social entrepreneurs. Today, reSET has evolved into a powerful force in the Greater Hartford community helping hundreds of socially-focused businesses to launch, scale, and thrive.

2012 | The Walker Group
The company rebrands to The Walker Group to reflect its growth in services beyond basic IT support. Virtualization, cloud hosting, and cybersecurity become hot topics in the business community.
2014 | Benefit Corporation
Benefit Corporation (B Corp) become an official, legal designation in Connecticut thanks to Kate and reSET's tireless work with state legislators. Upon passage of the new legislation, The Walker Group becomes one of the first registered B Corp in Connecticut.

2023 | Perpetual Purpose Trust
The Walker Group becomes the first Perpetual Purposed Trust-Owned Company in Connecticut and remains dedicated to serving a social mission for its clients, employees, and the community.
